The AG Strategics GREC 2 is a point-of-view recorder that clamps onto a night vision eyepiece and records what you see through the device in 4K. It records 4K video at 60 fps and sends a live 1080p feed over USB-C, which can be shared with the team in ATAK through the Grec2 app. The housing combines PA12 nylon with a CNC aluminium sensor arm and heat sink to prevent thermal throttling, and the unit weighs 75 g. It is the successor to the GREC X and fits PVS-14 eyepieces with a captive knurled clamp.

Typical uses

  • Recording night vision training and exercises for debriefs
  • Sharing a live night vision feed with a team through ATAK
  • Documenting night observation and patrols

FAQ

Does it block my view through the night vision device?

No. The GREC 2 records straight through the eyepiece with minimal interference with the field of view, according to AG Strategics.

Can my team see the feed live?

Yes. The live 1080p output runs over USB-C, and the Grec2 app announces the feed in ATAK with the operator's position and field-of-view cone. Streaming works over RTSP locally, or encrypted over SRT or RTMP, and through a TAK Server.

Where are recordings stored?

On a microSD card of up to 512 GB (Class 10 / U1). Files are named in sequence and are overwrite-safe.

Which devices does it fit?

This version clamps onto a PVS-14 eyepiece. AG Strategics also lists DTNVG, DTNVS, RNVG, Sentinel, MOD3 Bravo, BNVD-1431 and Katana as compatible.
