The Argus PVS-31 is a compact binocular night vision device for helmet use. It weighs 450 g or less with tubes, and the housing is fibre-reinforced nylon. It switches off when you flip it fully up and goes into standby after 100 seconds without movement, which saves battery and protects the tubes.

FAQ

What does MGC mean?

MGC is manual gain control. You turn the power switch to set the image brightness yourself.

Will it switch off when I raise my head?

No. It only switches off when you flip it fully up. A normal head movement stays below the switch-off angle.

How long does the battery last?

At least 15 hours on one AA battery, and at least 50 hours with an external battery pack at normal temperatures.

What does FOM mean?

Figure of merit is tube resolution multiplied by signal-to-noise ratio. A higher FOM gives a clearer image in low light.
